Today I am going to talk about head measurements. Can we really
get them exact? No not really but we can come close.
Generally a premie's head is about 12inchs,now that may be to big but we wouldn't know unless we measured. Most of the time a newborn is 13-14 inches and 0-3 months 14- 15 inches, now some people might argue the sizes, but I believe 3-6 months would be 15-16 inches, 6-12 months 16-18 inches and a toddler 19 inches.
As a prop maker I have to go by these measurements, unless I have a photographer that has the time to go out and get head measurements, but lets face it people. They don't have the time.
I had a photographer at my home last night at 9:30 pm picking up props. She left and was back at my door in less them 5 minutes. She had got a call from a client and needed more props.
One thing I have found though with the headbands,is to put a little piece of elastic in the back to give them a little stretch. On my crochet I always try to have yarn that will stretch, and my bonnets always has a tie in the back so they can be adjustable. Now does this always work? I hope so,I haven't heard that it hasn't.
